In a first for the Shropshire Horticultural Society, this year we launched our very own event radio station.
87.7 Buzz FM - The Sound of Summer, broadcast across the airwaves of central Shropshire as the Shrewsbury Flower Show launched its own radio station.
From August 7 – 14 2010, the Shropshire Horticultural Society had its very own radio station broadcasting on-air across central Shropshire and around the world on the internet.
87.7 Buzz FM, brought its listeners the build up to the 123rd Shrewsbury Flower Show, along with full coverage of the show live from The Quarry Park from 7am – 10pm on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 August.
The station broadcast a mixture of music and speech from studios located at Shrewsbury School. The daily output also included national and local news, weather and travel updates from the roads around Shrewsbury in the Rybrook Mini.
Buzz FM also supported local charities and community groups who were given airtime during the broadcast to highlight their services.
The team behind Buzz FM would like to thank everyone involved in the broadcast and hopes to be back on the airwaves for the 124th Shrewsbury Flower Show.
